Elicit
AI search assistant for researchers and academics that helps conduct literature reviews by identifying relevant research papers on a topic and summarizing key points. You must create an account to use it.
Keenious
An easy-to-use AI-powered tool that searches for articles on similar topics based on an article or self-written text. Integrates with word processors (Word or Google docs plug-in). The data comes OpenAlex (>200 million references). LibKey link to resources. Sign up to get access to more features. Limited free use.
Litmaps
Can be used for a small project for free, but if you have a longer project, you will likely have to pay to use this tool. Like Research Rabbit, Litmaps will suggest articles based on your topic and organize them into relationships in a table format so that you easily see repeated information, dissenting opinions, etc.
Research Rabbit
This site connects with your Zotero Library to help you visualize connections between articles and books. It uses a database of references and citations, transforming them into visual webs to show how sources are related to each other.
Scite
AI platform that helps researchers find and understand research articles through Smart Citations. scite uses access to full-text articles and its deep learning model to tell you how many times an article was cited and context of the citation (i.e., whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence). Available as a Zotero extension or add-on.
Scite plugin for Zotero
allows you to keep track of how articles in your reference library are cited. With this plug-in, you can see how articles have been supported, disputed, or mentioned by other articles.

Writing

Grammarly offers the ability to generate text based on a prompt. The GTU offers Grammarly - see more information on your Moodle landing page. There are many built-in features powered by AI on the Grammarly extension & application.

Editpad has useful text editing and generating tools, including a thesis generator (available to use without logging in or paying), active/passive voice converter, a summarizer tool and much more.

Check with your instructor and check your syllabus before using AI generated text in any assignment.
