In most databases, such as ATLA Religion Database, there is the advanced search option to select a language of the articles you would like view. This will retrieve articles in your chosen language, although some abstracts may be in English.
You can also narrow by language from the search results screen.
If you feel really comfortable using another language you can change the whole interface from English.
Note: this does not effect the language of the articles being retrieved.
Many public libraries such as the Berkeley Public Library and San Francisco Public Library offer free cards to anyone with a California address.
An excellent online tool for language reinforcement is Mango Languages, available online through the public library's website. Mango Languages offers 71 languages (plus 18 different ESL courses) including German, Latin, Hindi, Biblical Hebrew, Arabic, French, Tamil, and Greek.
You can also use Mango on your mobile device, there are apps available for download.
