*Visitors' guide to the GTU library*

The GTU library offers a wide range of services to the community. Learn more about getting a card and using the GTU library here!

Library Location

The GTU Main Library is at 2400 Ridge Road in Berkeley, in the Holy Hill neighborhood. We are 1 block north of the UC-Berkeley Campus and easily accessible by public transportation.

If you are on UC-Berkeley campus, exit through the North Gate and cross Hearst. Take Euclid 1 block north, and turn on Ridge.

We are about a 15 minute (uphill) walk from the downtown Berkeley BART station. And we are close to AC Transit line 65 (closest at the corner of Ridge and Euclid), 67, F and UC-Berkeley perimeter line.

Parking Options

  • The City of Berkeley has 2-hour free street parking on most of the streets around the GTU (including Ridge, LeConte, Scenic and Arch, but check signs for details such as street-sweeping days or other closures. This is a heavily ticketed area, so set your alarm for 2 hours and move your car.
  • On the West side of Scenic (between Hearst and Ridge), there is one block of metered parking available, also for 2 hours max.
  • Directly in front of the front door of the library, there is a green curb with 2 spaces, which are available for 24 minute parking, or for those with a disabled placard.
  • UC-Berkeley has a parking ramp (Lower Hearst Ramp) near the library, which has some full-day paid spots. Check with UC-Berkeley for information and rates. This lot is sometimes closed to visitors due to special events.
  • We are in the "HomeZone" for the car-sharing company Gig, so if you bring a gig car to the neighborhood, you can park in the 2-hour free spots all day.

Easiest (and most popular) way to get here is public transit or on foot.

If you bring your bike, our racks are on the side of the building facing Scenic, just around the corner from the front door.
